| MIKE BOOTH was born in Manchester. After Art College, having decided not to
become a Potter, International Playboy or Professional Footballer, he entered the teaching
profession and taught in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. In 1992, when he took early
retirement, he chose to concentrate on painting and poverty. He now exhibits regularly in
England and Wales with Watercolour Societies. He also runs a number of Adult Education
classes, and greatly enjoys the personal contact that this allows. The course at Alison House is suitable for both beginners and improvers and the work will mainly be in watercolour. Mike is particularly interested in depicting surface textures and exploring the possibilities of wet into wet watercolour. There will be the opportunity to also experiment with oil pastel and mixed media for anyone who wishes to do so. |
|
Weather permitting we will be going out to various locations, to paint in the surrounding areas. These will include the environment of Cromford with its canal, river bridges, mill, beautiful countryside and splendid views, all within easy walking distance of Alison House. Tutorials and demonstrations will all take place in the conference room and in the beautiful gardens.
With your booking confirmation you will receive a list of suggested art materials.
